Welcome back after our extended break! I have successfully moved! Thanks for asking! This week, we were shooting for Ultima! Let's see how we all did!
The Bride:
The Bride:
Bella: Your hair is perfect for a hairspray commercial- well done for taking advantage of that! I like the intensity in your eyes in your eyeliner advertisement and the tagline is cool, but there is something slightly off with your face
Fyora: Let's start with your hairspray. The first thing I notice about it is actually the mascara, and not the hair. Hair is a granted for you, and I would've loved to see you think outside the hair box here. Hair comes third in this picture for me, behind mascara and lipstick. Still a good shot.
Your eyeliner, hello Rose McGowan. Obviously someone was inspired by her here. It's very effective advertising, but I feel perhaps again the product you've chosen isn't in the limelight - rather the lips steal the show here
Celine: Hairspray is almost a given for you and your hair does look nice here, but I agree with Fyora that the eyes do steal some of the focus, but that's mainly because of the great intensity you're giving us here. Great commercial quality with an edge and the product is well-represented.
Your actual mascara ad is fantastic, too. Your eyes are definitely the focus here and the overall styling of it is fantastic. Really strong showing this week. You've remained strong this competition, but I was starting to see you falter from a front-of-the-pack position, but this is putting you right back near the top again for me.
Emma Frost:
Bella: I really like that you have been creative with choosing perfume as your cosmetic and taking advantage of your " diamond " sheen to sell it. The pose is absolutely perfect, but there is something a bit off with your face. Your other commercial is ok, but the product seems a bit lost on your poster and the taglines on both leave something to be desired.
Fyora: Okay, first, your perfume. A cool, fresh and icy scent is definitely what I see here. I also see it's a bit... cold in here, Emma. I mean, I can see a couple of friends saying hello on your chest. I think it works well for a perfume advertisement.
However, I can't say I say the same about your lipstick. I believe the focus is too much on the psychic aura around your head. It's also very mean looking. We don't want a lipstick that will make us be seen as mean, Emma. If I crop off the top, it looks much better.
Celine: You have some nice product placement in that first shot and since perfume is something we can't literally see, it has to be a good feeling about the shot and I do get the vibe of a perfume ad from it. You have a great pose, I love the vibe of the shot.
I'm not as wild about your second shot. Your lips definitely pop in a really nice way here, but your eyes are a problem for me. They look far too angry for an ad like this and it's a little distracting.
Harley Quinn:
Bella: I really like both pictures, particularly your volumising shampoo advertisement, the tagline is great. Your other advertisement is a little intense, some may say scary, but it is still effective and would appeal to all those Twilight kids in today's society
Fyora: Ms Quinzel, I am in love with your shampoo advertisement. It is perfect, and you've made it all the much better with your delicious tagline. It works so well together.
However, I'm not entirely a fan of your circle lenses one. Generally, the main market of the circle lens are younger, Asian women (And drag queens). For a circle lens advertisement, I'd rather see someone bubbly that would appeal to them. It's very dark and sinister. I don't think it would appeal much. That being said, the lenses are front and centre.
Celine: Your eyes had me thinking you might be trying for a mascara ad in the first shot, but the hair is definitely great and voluminous here. You've kept your sense of identity and definitely met the parameters of the challenge, so solid work.
The second one is a bit strange, but I actually quite like it. Your eyes are unnaturally a different color, so it shows off the lenses well. Your eyes are easily the most visible part of the shot, but you still have some of your signature style in the rest of the shot.
Peach:
Bella: Both of these posters have the appeal of being fresh and clean, even though the first is of poor picture quality you still look fresh and vibrant and your hair looks beautiful. It is very clear what you are advertising and the tagline is cute. Your second poster shows you fresh faced and vibrant and because it is a profile shot it is absolutely suitable as a foundation advertisement. Again the tagline is very cute
Fyora: I'm sorry I messed up the quality in your shampoo advertisement. I have no idea how I did it! Maybe I saved it wrong!
But I digress. I'm on the fence with it. I wish it were more in front of you. Over your shoulder, you know. The hair really needs to be the spotlight here, and not you.
However, I love your foundation. It's radiant, and it's really beautiful. So good job there!
Celine: The hair on the first shot is definitely looking very nice a clean. Great product display on a product that isn't the easiest to show off. It's a bit unfortunate that the quality isn't up to par. I like the movement of your arm and it's motion with your hair, but wish the shot didn't crop out that part.
Your second shot shows off your skin really well. It's a really nice profile shot of you. The eye we can see is very pretty here, too. I think your first shot had a better concept, while the second shot was better in terms of actual quality.
