Here were at our Ultima Cosmetics photoshoot. In a change of pace, I gave each team a product that would play to their strengths. In another twist, I've decided that this will be a double elimination. With the addition of our super important and high bonus Redo challenge in this photoshoot, can the win there change the rankings? But let's go to the pictures.

Noel: Daphne, I'm positive that Janice gave you this task just to fuck with me. Your lips are definitely drawing attention here and I like the shade of lipstick on you; it's just the right shade for your pale complexion. It could be the lighting playing tricks on me, but do you have heterochromia? Anyway, theme is done great, but I'm not sold on your look here. I feel like your hair isn't framing your face in the most flattering manner and while I understand it's how your teeth normally are, your buckteeth are bothering a bit more than normal. Still, a solid advertisement.
Mila, I like the youthful feel and playfulness of this shot. I could see it working well as an advertisement. I can see a decent sheen to it, but would have liked it to have been a slight bit more obvious. Still, pretty good shot for this theme.
Medusa, this is probably my favorite of the three. Your lips are stunning and your unique tongue definitely draws attention to that area. However, if I had one complaint, it's that the rest of the photo is so strong that it actually detracts some attention from your lips. Your snake hair is once again fantastic and I love your eyes, too. Can't get mad at a shot that's really strong.
Morgan: Daphne - Can someone tell me what the difference between lipstick and high end lipstick is? Either way your lips are selling your product, they pop out like anything in this mostly white photo. That's the major plus side to this photo. Your face in itself is striking, you have powerful features. However I'm not enjoying the washed out look that you have from the white make up, its stolen your natural beauty and made you look a little clown like.
Mila: This is a very flirtatious, catalogue photo of you and it works so well. The way in which you are playing with your accessories with your mouth is drawing the viewers attention to your lips - the prime focus for this shot. Your cheekbones, wondrous eyes and little dimple in your chin help you to look like a unique model in this photo. A pleasing photo.
Medusa: This photo was made to be a lipstick commercial for you. Your face looks stunning with its profile approach, a combination of beautiful art and a beautiful face work well here. I especially enjoy how the background is full of snakes an extension of what makes you unique.
Janice: I'll start with Daphne: Yes, I gave you lips to fuck with Noel, and you're right, high end is just another word for expensive. You definitely wouldn't see this for Covergirl or Maybelline. You may for L'Oréal Paris or Rimmel London though. This is a high end ad at its most basic level. I think it's effective in that manner. I just think overall, it may be lacking in the execution category - which is mostly about aethetics. I think I'd prefer a bolder, darker background.
Onto Mila now. I think this works on a very commercial level. I think the main area though I have a problem with here is how much attention is on the eyes. It's not a very bold lip colour, and I think it kind of gets lost among the mascara and eye products.
Finally, Medusa. Honestly, I'm on the fence here. I am not entirely a fan of the tongue. However, I love the lip colour. Otherwise, it is a very strong picture for a lipstick commercial, despite that minor aesthetic flaw in my tastes. Overall, a good job.

Magdalena:
Chloe:

Magdalena:
Chloe:
Alice:
Noel: Magdalena, while I feel you have better product placement here than with Chloe, this is actually my least favorite of your three shots. I think it's the styling of your hair and maybe the color blocking, too, but for some reason, I'm seeing a gymnast's headshot here. Still, I can see the concealer doing its job well here and there's a commercial feel to the shot.
Chloe, in terms of showing off the product, this is my least favorite of your shots. The lighting washes out half of your face. However, the half that's not blinded by the light looks really nice, so there is product placement in this shot; just not as strong as it could be. I could see this as an advertisement, so it has a nice commercial quality to the shot. Also, while all aspects of you look nice, there's no particular area that jumps out over the others to confuse me as to what product you're selling.
Alice, this is definitely my favorite of the three. The art style is phenomenal; you almost look real here. Your skin is great here and it's a very striking ad. Love everything about this shot and wouldn't change a thing.
Morgan: Magdalena: The first thing that came to my head when I saw this photo was that you look like a baby wrapped up in a blanket. Whether that is a positive or a negative I'm not sure. Your face is striking and gorgeous with your olive colour. Everything looks perfect but is that because you have been wrapped up with your hair and true essence concealed? Morgan the philosopher will leave you with those thoughts.
Chloe: You look very young and relatable here like the girl next door. Your face looks flawless, clean and soft which connects well to the product. However I'm sensing boredom in your posing and within your eyes, there's too much relaxation in your demeanour and not enough tension to show us that you mean business. Channel that internal spark so we want to buy your product!
Alice: I'm in complete agreeance with Noel when I say this is complete perfection. The cute pout, beautiful green eyes, button nose and dazzling skin are all features which stand out. I also see a confidence and fire within you, your posing and eye contact translates this. Overall this is a perfect photo which captures a angry sexy look, bingo.
Janice: I'm going to start with Magdalena. She has the most beautiful bone structure. Her face is very captivating, and the skin is indeed flawless. I do agree with the other judges, probably the weakest of the three. For me it's more on the side of the towels wrapped around. A plain background would've been a lot better.
Chloe, again, perfect skin. A nice commercial quality to the picture, but as the other judges say, there's nothing entirely memorable about it. It's not going to stop people in the street, or make people stop in the magazines. It is plain.
Alice, this is more a home run for me. It's bold and striking. Definitely would make me stop and look at the advertisement. It's very bold and striking, and very memorable, which is definitely the most important element.
Heart Attack:
Sui:
Jennifer:
Boa:
Morgan: Sui He: It's clear that you are owning the product, your icy queen eye-shadow is unmistakeable and eye catching. I don't think the colour is entirely flattering on you however, you look like you are styled to hit a rave party which lowers your modelling appeal. Your gentle persona and flawless face help to counteract the styling setbacks though.
Jennifer: Are you a closet Cullen? Your eyes look captivating and shiny without looking forced as well. You have a natural effortless beauty but I would like to see more of a modelling effort here. You look a little bored as if you are fantasising about being anywhere but in the photoshoot. The shadow on the left side of your head isn't complimenting the photo in perhaps the desired way, find that light and seize it.
Boa: Do I see a Adams apple in my midst!? I sense a serious bump in that neck of yours. This photo is extremely versatile, I see a commercial for hair, accessories, lens, massacre which is your chosen product and you represent it well. Your eyelashes look lush, bold and full and I'm enjoying the little pout in your face. You seem to be making eye contact with something near the camera but not directly at the camera which would have been an added extra that may have created a stronger connection between you and the viewer.
Noel: Sui He, the product is clearly visible on you, so you definitely have that going. I'm not sure I like the overall cohesiveness of the shot, though. All of the individual elements alone work for me (except maybe your shirt, which feels cheap to me), but when put together, I don't like the way they mesh. Still, it's hard for me to pinpoint why, so it's probably not that big of a deal and probably won't really affect my scoring. I could see this used as an ad and you've shown the product off well.
Jennifer, despite your strong lips here, your eyes are definitely the first thing I noticed. For your product, I wish you would have gone with a bit more striking of a color, but that's just a personal preference. You do look a bit bored, but you also look really beautiful here. You're nicely styled and I love your hair this round You're giving us a different look this round, so I appreciate the variety.
Boa, I didn't notice that bump on your neck when I first saw this shot and that's because your eyes pull me straight to them. Yeah, it easily could have worked for a hair care ad, too, but your eyes are very strong here and this would work great for an ad. Literally the only negative I have here is the bump on your neck.
Janice: I see this more on the high end side of an eyeshadow commercial. Definitely a striking advertisement, would probably make me stop and look for a little bit. I'm not sold on the mouth. I think there's a certain aesthetic quality that's missing here. But I still think overall it works.
I must say, I'm very surprised to see circle lenses for Jennifer. The eyes are definitely the main focus despite the bold lip colour. But I do agree with Noel, I which the eye colour were something more striking. You could've edited the eye colour a bit in photoshop.
Finally, Boa. My cropping probably takes away from this, so I'm going to use your original. I don't see the Adam's apple that the other judges mentioned. I just see how stunning this picture is. I think it's quite beautiful. I think it would be better for basic beauty though... In fact, I think these two photos should be swapped. That one would be more a striking advertisement than this one I think.

Jensen:
Michiru:
Cindy:
Jensen:
Michiru:
Morgan: Cindy: Starting off with a negative that needs to be said - Grainy! This photo is grainy and because of that it looks aged, giving you that same impression as well. Besides that this photo is enjoyable but safe in my opinion. You are selling your hair products in the photo (as well as in your little description which was a nice read) and your eye contact is strong with the viewer enticing them to try your product. I'm left feeling a bit underwhelmed however.
Jensen: This is a risky photo and for that I am inherently appreciative. It's not an entirely bad risk though, this is a very interesting approach to a razor commercial and yet it fits really well. A face in need of shaving and water dripping down connect well to the theme. Modelling wise, I didn't actually know who this photo was of until I read your description. This could be an indication of versatility or there could be other factors that are foreshadowing your natural identity to be present. The light on the left side may be a contributor to this, its definitely not a complimenting light. The dripping water as mentioned adds a nice touch however the large droplet of water coming off your right eyelashes makes you look like you have a bad case of conjunctivitis.
Sailor Neptune: Look at this bouncing, full, voluminous hair! And what a dazzling wide eyed beauty who's showcasing it! Your hair looks marvellous, you have taken a very feminine approach here which has turned out well even your outfit has being equipped with some additional bling. One down side to this photo is the shaping of your face, the tendrils of hair which cover areas of your face make it look a little misshapen. Your mouth looks quite small too in comparison to your eyes.
Noel: Cindy, for an ad that features voluminous hair, I wish we would have seen just a bit more volume from it. It still works where it's at, though. The texture's a bit off, but could have been worse; I always feel it's better to be grainy than blurry. With all of that said, this has one of the best potentials for an advertisement out of all the photos this round. There's a basicness (new word) to this photo that just works. There's nothing here to distract us from you or the product you are selling.
Jensen, I absolutely love this photo, but I'm not sure I love it for this week. You have a nice amount of stubble there (that I normally love), but when you're selling a razor, that's not a good thing to have. If you were selling an electric shaver or maybe even a styling razor, it would have been much more acceptable. Still, the water was a good addition to this photo and this had the potential to be a great ad had that one major detail been fulfilled.
Michiru, I love the volume you're giving us in this shot. While this is not my favorite art style I've seen from you, but you have a completely new look here. It feels like the product has transformed who you are and makes for a good testimonial. Your mouth is definitely a bit too small, but your eyes are fine. Eyes that size are normal for anime characters, so it's nothing out of the ordinary.
Janice: Cindy, I think the grainy quality that the others judges note is out of your control. This was the general quality of pictures from your prime in the late 80s to early 90s. I'm not going to take any points away for that, you and I have had to deal with that problem before. I do agree, I'd prefer more volume, but I think this would probably the submission that would most likely be seen as a real advertisement (in the early 90s, of course).
Now to Jensen, not the direction I was hoping you'd go for, but I do appreciate you did your research. I had to look up the Schick ads, and I found a similarity between them. Yes, it would be better if he were clean shaven, but still, a bit of stubble doesn't hurt. I feel the razor aspect is a fault of both you and me. Yours for not specifying the type of razor, and me for assuming it was a razor like the one I featured. I too think the water is a very nice touch.
Finally, Michiru. The hair is definitely the star here. It's thick, luxurious and full of volume. I can't really bag out a style of art, especially since this style is one that is very close to the original style that Michiru was created in. The outfit is really something else, I have to touch on that. I quite like the updated sailor fuku.

Logan:
Morgan: Tyson: Skin Rejuvenation Cream aye, would make me look like you is that right? Alright how much? Its impressive to see the effect of your skin cream being reflected in this photo even though its a black and white shot. This is complimentary to your skin tone and makes the shot unique in itself. Your facial positioning is strong and your expression is natural and yet captivating. A nice, simplistic and yet powerful advertisement.
Ryan: Well hello bohemian prince. What I like about this photo is that its not only your eyes that are looking relaxed and fresh but your entire persona looks relaxed. The accessioning with the scarf was a good move giving you a soft appearance. As does your misty eyes and relaxed expression. This photo is extremely fitting to your desired product and is a solid shot. P.S Kudos for the Sydney reference!
Wolverine: Are you cheating in that you are selling two products in the same photo, Janice I found the mole! There are positive and negative aspects to this photo, lets get the negatives out of the way first. You look quite old here, through the tightness in your face which is generating wrinkles and the appearance of what looks like grey hairs in your hair and beard. Positively however this is a strong shot of you, you are the centre of the photo and are giving us a striking fearless photo. This relates to the age old battle over which is more important confidence or appearance
Noel: Tyson, your skin looks fantastic here. The modeling is spot on. There is nothing negative to say here. Great photo.
Ryan, I have seen Ryan Kwanten get used in a few competitions now, so it's always nice to see a shot I've never seen before. I have to echo Morgan that the softness of the photo really works here. You're styled perfectly and it's just a really nice shot.
Logan, this is probably my least favorite of your shots this round. The art style is probably is what's making you looked aged (ironic for you). I think you would have done well with just the hair cream as your product here since I feel that's shown off well, but I'm not overly thrilled with the other products on display. Your hair is styled perfectly and has a nice sheen to it. Your beard is a bit distracting, though. Your beard looks like a Before shot and your hair looks like an After shot for the products.
Janice: Tyson, I can't really add anything to what the judges have already said. One slight aesthetic thing is that I might like to see this in colour, but it's still good.
Anyway, on to Ryan. I have to nitpick a little bit on the slight baggy bits under your eyes. It is soft and commercial, but there's still that small fact of the slight bags under the eyes. They're not entirely noticeable, but I need to look at these things.
Finally on to Logan. Straight off, this is far too scruffy for a facial hair advertisement. It's in the right direction, and definitely the right product for Logan, but the picture I think is all wrong. I feel perhaps for you, a basic sketch of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine would have done the job perfectly. This is just too scruffy. We get the idea that this product won't neaten your facial hair up, but the opposite effect.
