METAL - Rick Genest A variety of elements in this picture help demonstrate metal in its many forms. First there is no color involved in this picture. When I think of metal, my mind automatically goes to silver, aluminum, tin, i.e gray metals. This photo has many hues of gray, demonstrating the many types of gray metal. Second, the most obvious metal aspect is the metal studs in his leather jacket. When I think of the types of people who would wear this jacket, it is only obvious that metal heads would be sold on a jacket like this. Lastly, the more subtle but not so subtle element is what seems to be a signature pose for Rick; his fingers pointed like a gun, which are generally made of metal. So many pieces of the photo just jump out and scream METAL in all its forms, composition, color, music, and life. FIRE- Jack Skellington Now before you say this isn't Jack Skellington, let me just tell you that Jack Skellington is also the Pumpkin King. This photo is much more direct the Rick's photos, but there are still some implicit aspects. The obvious aspect is that Jack's hands are on fire, thus putting the element in full sight. Fire is destructive if not controlled properly, and Jack's character thrives on destruction, especially when he is involved. In the opening scene of the movie, he lights himself, his pumpkin King Self, on fire just for a show. The last aspect is the fact that fire is involved in the picture in another explicit way, but many might not think of. How is a pumpkin lit up? Fire!

Yeah, we need it to look like Jack. That is: has the same head, or another tell-tale sign. There's nothing here to differentiate between Tim Burton's Jack Skellington and an original character with a pumpkin head. I cannot accept this.

Here is my replacement photo for my fictional character FIRE - Jack Skellington
Jack Skellington's life thrives off the fact that he can scare little children and adults alike. This photo shows Jack in his scare element while using this weeks' themed element of fire. How you ask? Pumpkins are often lit with FIRE. He is surrounded by pumpkins lit with their soft glows by fire. While many find fire to be too harsh to want to be surrounded by it, Jack loves it. Morgan: Rick - This is a very unique representation of metal and I like it. When I think of metal I think of cold, smooth and dark colours and that is exactly what is represented in this photo. Your modelling portrays a vibe of being unfeeling, static and rusted which I love. Your fashion sense depicts the stereotype of metal also. I like what you have done here and the angle you have approached this photoshoot from.
Jack - EVIL! And fiery, this photo is a much better submission than the ambiguous Jack that you posted previously. I love the mischievous, smoking and yet compelling feel to this photo. Your smile tells a million stories and I am surprised at the quality of emotion you are displaying. The fire in the pumpkins, in your expression and the smoky, blurred background makes a great connection to fire.

Janice: This is a very masculine, metallic image, and the use of monochromatic greyscale (Fancy for black and white) makes it stronger. I can also make the connection to metal music as your description says. It's heavily inspired by the metal element.
Lastly, I am very happy you found this picture to replace the ambiguous not-jack you submitted earlier. This really explores the dark side of fire, in the vengefulness, the mischievousness and the potency for destruction. It's breathtaking to the eye, but from a fashion perspective, it's hard to tell.

Toadette: Rick: I definitely see the element of metal here, but there's no shock factor. This is something we would expect from you, but that's really my only criticism. It's good to stay true to who you are, but some shock value would really be nice.
Jack: I really like this photo of Jack. I see the fire with the jack-o-lantern, and the fire in his eyes. I also can see a model here for the first time with Jack! Good job.
