Welcome teams to our second panel. This week, you had to send in something artistic, so let's see how your creative juices flowed.
Jessie: First of all, I like the little Asian text tattoo on your shoulder. But seriously. That earring is so BAM, in your face. It really brings out the artistic effect in the photo. This is a dark kind of art and that's one of my favorite kinds. Also, for a head shot, it's different and I really enjoy it over all.
Morgan: That earring is gorgeous! What I love about this photo is that there are so many unique aspects to it, and that is what makes it an artistic shot. Your face is very strong here, and your lips and facial contours are very defined and delicious *smacks lips* I think you have done a really good job here, usually I would prefer attention to be directed at the camera but I still feel connected to you in this and your profile in this is stunning so I don't mind.
Janice: That huge earring is divine, and it really adds another dimension to this photograph in terms of artistic content. I love seeing those high cheekbones, and that defined jaw, but I also love that icy atmosphere of the whole piece. Good job.
Morgan: Hmm, I like this photo and I don't. I can see the artistic approach you have taken, it looks like a tragic love story or an analogy for self-harm. So I like the fact that there can be a deeper meaning derived from this photo. However overall the photo doesn't "pop" for me, and what I mean by this is, there is a strength lacking in you and your modelling. I want to see more emotion and power in your eyes and your face, since your face is the focal point of this photo it needs to be strong.
Jessie: Well, well, I suppose every rose really does have it's thorns. I'm not going to lie, I took a peek at the one for Naruto and fell in love but I really do like this one of you, Lana, as well. It's dark and twisty and sometimes art is like that. I'm not crazy about the line going across your forehead. It's a little distracting. I love how captivating your eyes are and that blood gives off just how dangerous flowers can be.
Janice: There's something a little dark and mysterious about this, and it sure does tell a story. I love the emotion in your eyes, and the angst and desperation in your eyes. Overall, it's a strong emotional art piece.
Jessie: A dark Cinderella! If not for the blonde hair and that pumpkin, I wouldn't have even guessed that was you. I assume you're visiting the grave of your dearly departed mother and checking around you to make sure that evil, crazed step mother isn't around when you ask the pumpkin for a favor, like rat poison or something since you're looking extra Misdreavus, I mean, mischievous. Well done.
Morgan: Wow this truly is a different side to you isn't it, and I'm impressed by that it shows versatility. You look so different here, filled with resentment and anger perhaps a very different expression to the usual innocence and happiness that we usually see in you. The setting around you is great as is your dress. I think the artistic value in this shot is the remarkable difference in your persona, and it is truly an artistic ability to completely transform yourself in a believable way. Good job this week!
Janice: I'm having a hard time believing this is Cinderella - Honestly, it could be anyone, even an OC (original character), but for the sake of this shoot, let's just pretend it's Disney's version.
It's definitely an interesting and unique take on Cinderella - Like if she went to Halloween Town in Kingdom Hearts. It's definitely artistic, and gothic. It's a great and unexpected transformation of you.
Janice: What can I say? I am in love with this! This is flawless! I think this is absolutely amazing, and it shows off all your lovely featured very well. This is a really futuristic piece, I can see this hanging above someone's mantle in their salon.
Morgan: This is absolutely amazing. I have been looking forward to getting around to judging this photo. You look so alien like, but I love it! I wish I could touch you in this photo, because you would probably feel weird but awesome. I don't know what to say other than, you have definitely nailed the artistic theme, this is creative, imaginative and unique. Well done!
Jessie: I had to take a couple of days to let this photo sink in. It still hasn't. It's unbelievably artistic because of the glassy covering of your skin and I give major props. I'm creeped out by it, though. I mean, like Morgan said, there's something alien about it and it raises the hairs on my arms and gives me goose pimples. But I think it's supposed too. This is a form of art that really speaks out and it's telling me to run away and hide before you ax murder me. But extremely well executed. Great work!
Janice: I can see the concept that you were going for, but it's not entirely executed well. It almost seems like you just googled "Kate Moss artistic". I can see the patriotic art vibe here, but modelling-wise, I don't see it. I mean, I see your face, it's okay, but overall, I find this to be a bit bland and boring.
Jessie: Oh, this is cool. I like that you've integrated yourself with the American flag. You could pass for a Kecleon with very little difficulty. In case you were wondering, they're the Pokemon version of a chameleon. I only have one criticism, I don't like that hint of a sneer going on with your lips. It's takes away from the artistic value a little. But overall I like this.
Morgan: I've spent a while looking at this shot and going between liking it to not liking it. So lets just combine those split parts of myself shall we. I like the fact that you have combined yourself with the American flag, to become as one or to make yourself look the definition of America. Kind of a centre of attention sort of thing or a sense of pride of your country, which I respect and enjoy. I don't entirely like the modelling you have, I don't really see much modelling here and your presence isn't strong enough for me. Your clothes look skimpy and doesn't go along with the meaning that could be represented in this shot. So overall I do like the concept, but as Janice mentioned it wasn't executed to the best of its ability.
Janice: You look like a regular piece of artwork, like an Arabian dream, one of the sultan's wives in the times before Islam. I love the way your hair is styled, and the way you're showing off the garment. However, I do see there's a little problem with your legs, they're sort of pointing away from camera, and one is somewhat amputated, while the other is abnormally short. Overall, I love the classic painting vibe, especially with that modern twist.
Morgan: Wheww, I gotta get me some of those melons! I am referring to the fruit ladies, gosh dirty minded people! You look really great here, your face is definitely the strong point the rest of your body seems to be slouching a bit so that's something to keep in mind for next time. Your face is strong, well defined with the light and your expression is intimidating. Its as if you are saying "pick up my fruit bitch!" I like that this is a versatile shot, it could be used as an artistic shot as well as for high fashion.
Jessie: Because of the background, the design on the flooring and your outfit, this works. I am not crazy about pears but the way they're situated makes this a very great still life. Unlike Janice, I am not crazy about your hair, it's intimidating but I suppose for an artistic photo it's something that really stands out and makes it pop even more.
Morgan: I actually surprisingly like this. Usually I find these colorful shots too distracting and overcompensating for the lack of modelling. But here you have such a strong presence so everything comes together well. I'm glad that you are modelling in an artistic way, you have this muse feeling about you as if you are presenting a pose and I am meant to be drawing you. I LOVE your bra/shirt whatever it is. I think you have done well here, it would have been good to see more though. It looks a little too cropped.
Jessie: Ooooh I love this. I love the vibrant colors and your pose and that painted on outfit... wait... is it painted on? It doesn't matter. Everything goes well with the background. I feel like I should be getting high, like a hot air balloon. Not bad, Katy, not bad.
Janice: For me, it's not doing much at all. What I do love about it is how the colours play and dance around, and it really catches the eyes. I love the retroesque fashion piece you are wearing, and the wig and other accessories really do add an extra dimension - However, I'm unsure if this is really doing it for me.
Janice: The Woman With The Pearl Necklace, right? Well, there's no doubt that this is an artistic representation of a masterpiece. I love the way the light bounces off your face, and how high your cheekbones are, and your defined browline. Overall, I think this is a good representation of an artistic piece.
Morgan: Whoever knew that marge could pull off such an awesome artistic and modelling shot at the same time! This is really great and looks like an actual artistic masterpiece. As Janice mentioned your cheekbones and browline look amazing, and are so defined for a fictional character. This is a job well done.
Jessie: I was just talking about this the other day. I love the Girl with the Pearl Earring and I've seen another version with Scarlet and I had wondered if you and her would be representing this but I'm glad that isn't the case. I really love this. You look innocent and really capture the vulnerability that goes along with the painting. Excellent work.
Jessie: Now THIS is a side of Duncan I can live and die happy with. I'm so glad that atrocious uni brow has been dealt with and those chiseled abs are just fantastic. However, I feel like the spiked collar is so tight that it could be cutting off air. It's a nice sketch but I would have preferred color to make it seem more complete. Nice attempt though.
Morgan: Who is this! Even though I am male I can spot a stud muffin when I see one. I wish you would have revealed those washboard abs to us before now. YOU as a model look great here, your body is perfection. However I don't see much of the artistic aspect in this, other than it is a representation, drawn by someone else, of you. Which does hold an artistic element but not as much as i would have liked to see. As Jessie mentioned, perhaps some color or adding some more unique and creative aspects to this photo to give it more of an artistic feel.
Janice: Sexy, sexy, sexy, but not very artistic - I understand Duncan has very little to go with - And your intentions for using him this shoot, but perhaps this may not have been the best choice of character for this particular shoot. He looks a lot better than what he usually would here, perhaps that's the artistic aspect of this shoot.
