Hello everyone! Welcome to our first panel of this new cycle! This week was all about potential! Let's see how much potential everyone had!
Janice: Yes, that photo of Stella shows us her potential with her androgyny and her long figure, but does it have any fashion or pizzazz to it? Not at all. It's kind of boring in my eyes. Though showing good potential, it's not memorable.
This is much better than that eyesore red carpet/candid shot you posted. That photo was awful, and this one is, as I said, much better. It's radiant and smiley, but a bit controlled.
Lois, I don't think you quite know what a beauty shot is. A beauty shot is a photo of the face or shoulders up which is designed to accentuate your beauty, by showcasing your best features, while hiding your worst. It's a hard shot to pull off for anyone. For this to work, first we need to cut it off at the shoulders. Then we can begin to try to appreciate Lois' beauty. I'm not sure if official art was the right way to go here, and it may have been work tracking down a fan-made picture of Lois just for this shoot.
P!nk:
I dont' see a picture
It's there now. Please dont' hotlink teams. You're lucky I came back to this. Cut your head off and I like it. The pose isn't too lackluster so we can see you working those long legs. But your hair and face look atrocious here. Sorry
I dont' think I like this I'm sorry. The smile is beautiful, but the rest, I mean, you are a beautiful woman. But there's too much of everything other than your smile.
Like Janice said, it should be from the shoulders up. But I like this shot of you. I think it's very nice.
Woody:
Stella's photo is lacking something for me. It seems a bit dull. I feel like the trousers stand out but you blend in the background. If the photoshoot was to model a garment it would have been great, but we want you to showcase yourself and your potential.
Dianna has a beautiful photo, I wish the photo had more of a focus on Dianna's face, the outfit is great, but overall the smile becomes a secondary feature.
Lois has a very unique head shape. I feel like it could have been featured more beautiful if we didn't have so much body in the photo. The proper execution was missing here.
Overall, it's a tough week for you.
Janice: Look at those long legs, they go for miles, and they look so slender too thanks to the leggings you're is wearing. I like the sleepy, sensual expression you have, and the way you're posed her body. My criticism is I wish we saw more shoes in this photograph. That would have made it much better.
This is a real smile, Ziyi, we can tell by your eyes that it's definitely not a fake smile. It's huge and vibrant and energetic, and it shows you're not afraid to be ugly and express your sure self. That's a commendable quality in modelling.
Hatsune-chan, I see you've taken the innocent approach here. It's a great beauty shot we're seeing, it shows off your eyes very nicely, and the shape of your face. But it seems a little on the weak side to me.
P!nk:
Ok, so if no one is aware of this, I'll say it now. Gisele? MY GODDESS!!!! Yes I'm starting to like Karlie a teeny bit more, well, the same lol But Gisele was my first model in a game six years ago and I fell in love with her and havent' fallen out of love. BUT this will not make me love every picture lol So calm down everyone.
I do love this photo lol Here is where your simple pose is better than another model's. Your little leg twist, hip jut, shoulder bounce, wind blowing hair. It shows more pizzazz then just standing there. I do wish we could see more in your face. I'm not fond of the expression here. But the rest is good.
I like the smile. I like the fun you seem to be having here. I just hope this will be memorable in the ranking process.
I'm not sure I like this Kind of look like a strung out anime lol Sorry.
Woody:
Howdy Team Asian Fushion! Let me start off with Gisele, I really love the photo, it really shows your potential and the styling is great. It's very urban and current. I'm also really like Ziyi's smile photo, you can tell that it's very genuine and not fake, which is great. I also like how the focus is on you, and there's nothing in the setting to take away from that. I also like your beauty shot, it has a clear focus on the face, but the expression doesn't work for me, it seems like Hatsune-chan is scared or nervous.
Overall, it's been a solid week for you.
Woody:
I really do like Gemma's pose, I think it's a nice photo to showcase her full potential. I just have a small issue, and it's with the face, I'm not feeling it at the moment.
Rose does have a nice smile, I do feel that the photo is odd because of the way it's cropped, and it looks like hands are popping everywhere. The smile also feels a bit forced and does seem to go well with the face.
That's a beautiful beauty shot of Jean. I think that the photo does showcase some of her best features, but I find that the earrings are also fighting to the limelight in this photo.
Overall, I think that you've had a mediocre week.
P!nk:
I like the pose alot. The legs are to die for and the hip jut is sexy. I love the arms and your hands. The only thing I don't like is your expression. Otherwise, this is really good.
I like this photo. Very cute smile. Playful and fun.
Oh beautiful. It's very very beautiful. The only problem is the lighting, seems to throw extra shadows that make you look like you have two chins and two noses.
Janice: I like this Gemma, it's what we're looking for. We can see your high fashion model potential, with a hint of commercial there for added versatility. We can see your tall long legs, and the dress is beautiful.
Rose, I feel your photo is a bit lacklustre, although we see your beautiful snow white skin against your black hair, the overall composition of the photo is not all that pleasing.
Jean, this is stunning. I am really drawn to your beautiful green eyes! This beauty shot highlights all your best features, from your eyes to your jawline. It's a great photo.
Janice: What can I say about this one, Vlada, except I've climaxed. Your face is divine! It's perfection. Your body is divine and perfection. Your legs. Well that's where it stops. That will cost you a few points.
We can see your quirky personality here Lana, however I would have loved to see a nice smile without those huge glasses stealing the limelight away. The rest is cute, but those glasses really take centre stage.
Ah Tomoyo-chan. Very cute. You have some beautiful big doe eyes there, and the short bang really shapes your face. We can see all your features including your large jaw. That jaw sets you apart from some of the other anime characters here.
P!nk:
Vlada is so much better than this. I mean, I love the sexy pose. But we dont' see anything else, the whole body should be showing. I love your arms and how they're posed and I love your neck. I like the slicked back hair. Just need more from you.
The smile is cute, you're showing personality. I'm not sure if I love this or not lol
I love your eyes and your hair. It's a sweet look. The mouth and chin drive me insane with some of you anime but that's ok, i'll look past that since you're not alone
Woody:
Vlada, I'm not really liking this photo, I feel like you've fallen asleep and decided to rest against a wall. But I do see some potential, even though I wish the photo wasn't cut at your knees.
Lana, I think it's a nice photo. You are smiling, and the setting is great and matches with the outfit. I just feel like the focus isn't on the smile, but on the glasses, like an ad for Del Ray Optical.
Tomoyo-chan, I like this as a beauty shot. It's very sweet and inviting. It really showcases your anime features beautifully.
Overall, there is some room for improvement.
Janice: What we see from you here is that you're energetic, and not afraid to be ugly, and that shows great potential for variety. Your body has some nice curves being made, but your legs we cannot see. I wish we saw how tall you were too.
Orlando, we seem to have caught you mid-laughter. What's so funny? You've got a great smile, but I wish we saw the colour here, a black and white sort of takes away from those pearly whites you have. Nevertheless, it's charming and endearing.
There's one thing I really love about this and that's the shadows. What they've done is accentuate your brow and cheekbones on your right side, and given you a mysterious and dangerous quality. The beauty shot is really a top notch picture.
P!nk:
Was this to be full bodied? I thought it was. I think we just assume since we want to see model potential that we want it all. I love everything except your mouth. I hate your avatar and now with this photo, it looks like you don't know how to close your mouth, which lucky for you, I know you can do better then this lol Otherwise I'd be afraid to let you move on.
Orlando, this is gorgeous. Your smile just lights up the whole room. I love the laugh lines, your expression, i just really really like this a lot.
When I saw this last night I remember thinking, it didn't matter about the hair across your face, your beauty shines right on through. And I still think that. This is wonderful. You really hold your own and look fantastic. I love the shadow play on your face and your eyes are amazing.
Woody:
I really like your modelling shot, it's not typical. I like how different it is and how confident you are. I would have liked to see a full body shot to really show us your full potential, but I'm pleased with the 2/3 that you've presented.
I do like your smile photo for Orlando, I don't love it, but I like it. The thing that bothers me is that lack of colour. For a smile photoshoot, I like how the colour brings life to the photo, and this black and white/sepia photo takes away from it.
For Rogue, unlike the other judges, I'm not liking the shadow. I do think that it's a beautiful beauty shot, and the features that we see are very beautiful. But I don't like what's hidden behind the shadows, for all I know you could have a scar.
Overall, you have some room to grow.
Janice: How does it feel to be the one being judged for once, skank?!
As much as I hate you Tyra, I can't deny you have filled the brief perfectly here, despite being airbrushed to hell and back. From the hair to the legs, you've done it. But you're ugly and fat. So too bad.
The brightness in this photo is overpowering, Summer. Although I do see what you've done here... A Summery photograph for Summer in Summer right? It's fun and it's vibrant, but you're an amputee.
It's nice to see you've gone for pastels here, and gone with a CoverGirl look in this photo of you, Peach. Your eyes are perfect, your hair is perfect and your expression is perfect. But your hand is swollen. You should get that looked at.
P!nk:
I dont' mind this. I mean, I like this picture of you Tyra, but it's kind of bland in the modeling sense as well. I love your expression and connection with the camera, but a bit of pizzazz might have helped more.
I actually love this photo. Which is funny because, I really shouldn't for the theme at hand. The lighting is awful and the bubble interferes with your smile. But the smile is so BIG and HAPPY that i can't help but smile when I look at it.
This is cute. I really think you look very beautiful in this shot.
Woody:
I love this photo of Tyra, you can really see her full potential, she has a strong pose and the prop only adds to that. I like it the way it is, and I don't think it needs anything extra. It's strong and solid on it's own with a clear focus.
I'm not feeling Summer's photo, I can see that the smile is there. But the lighting forces you to squint at the photo, and that huge bubble gets in the way.
I love Princess Peach's photo, I think that choosing a photo that wasn't typical, really helped here. It has a clear focus on the face and really showcases your basic beauty.
Overall, you've had a good week.
Janice: Though I was more or less expecting studio or plain background shots for this photoshoot, I'm not angry with this. In it we can see a classy runway walk, the ability to model a dress and not to mention you know how to work those long limbs and that face.
Kellan, you look like a pedophile, I'm sorry. This smile is really creepy, you look like you're about to abduct some children into your van, and not even give them candy!
Let's cleanse our eyes with this beautiful shot of Chii, Those beautiful eyes and that small nose, and the ears. It's also good that you've covered something that could be seen as a fault in a beauty shot, by covering your large jaw.
P!nk:
I was actually thinking the same thing as Janice. It would have been better to be alone, in a studio. I love how you look like you're on the runway. I love the way your dress is billowing out around you. I love that even though there are people in the photo, it's all about you. Your pose, your expression. This is a very good job.
ACK!!! I love Kellan. But I dont' love this I'm sorry but I agree with Janice here.
I like this shot. I like the flowers. I love your expression. I think you've done well here.
Woody:
I love your modelling shot. I love the outfit and I really love how you don't get sucked into the setting, but you're the centre piece of the photo.
As for Kellan's photo, I'm not liking this smile very much. It's very sinister, and that's not an adjective that people should be associating with the word smile.
I love your basic beauty shot. The focus is mainly on the face, and I see the beautiful anime features. Holding up the flower might be a bit in the way, but it also adds to the photo, especially with the setting.
Overall, you've had a more or less decent week.
Janice: Your pose and your face are great here, but the high fashion outfit doesn't quite fit the criteria of this particular photoshoot. It's a little bit too much for this particular photoshoot in a way that it takes away from us seeing your true potential as a model. This is about model basics after all, we can get into more complex fashion later.
It doesn't matter that I made you change the photo Cheryl because your original was used in cycle 1, you've still a beautiful smile. In contrast to the original, this one has a darker and bolder element which could help you stand out from the rest of the smile photos.
As for Sakura, I'm not a fan of the photoshopped background, it contrasts against you in a really bad way. Your face in this is beautiful, but the overall composition of this shot leaves much to be desired.
P!nk:
*face palms* I love Natalia but I dont' love this. I can't see anything behind that huge mess of clothes you insisted on wearing. I do love your connection with the camera. That's it
I don't remember there being a Cheryl Cole in Season 1 lmfao Nor did I remember that first picture, and man I LOVED it. This one is good too. I love the smile. I just don't love the rest I know this isnt' your fault though, so that's a plus for you.
I love the picture on a whole, but not sure how I feel about your face. I'll have to really think about this when ranking, because I do see a basic beauty to the picture. Just not sure how I feel with the face.
Woody:
I'm not liking your full body shot. I don't think it shows your potential in a positive way. And it may be because of the outfit. It feel like the outfit is everywhere and partially made of garbage.
I love Cheryl's beautiful and natural smile. You have a beautiful smile and a nice twinkle in the eye. I do feel like Cheryl is a bit messy here, but the smile is great and is the first thing you see, which is important.
I like the beauty shot, it has an innocence to it, which is great. You can see her anime features clearly, and I like that about this photo.
Overall, you've had an okay week.
P!nk:
I love Viviene. She's very good at what she does. I love the length of your legs here. The movement looks flawless, if not for the foot being off the ground, I would never have guessed you were jumping because there is no strain anywhere. I wish we could see your other arm though, you look like you've lost the limb. And your cheeks look sucked in but i can't tell because nothing looks strained. Good job.
I love your smile. Not necessarily the photo itself though. The smile is great, while the photo is kind of boring. Not horrible, but it's not popping for me.
This is cute. I wish it was cut off a bit more for just the face, but it's very nice. You look shocked, but not in a horrible way. I love the neat hair and beautiful pose.
Woody:
I love the modeling potential photo, I can really see her full potential, and the overall concept of the photo really works for me. I also feel like it stands out, because there is movement involved. Danielle has a beautiful smile, I feel like the photo is a bit small and I would have liked it a bit larger. I'm not loving the beauty shot, I would have liked to see more focus on the face, and the expression is not working for me either, the surprised look doesn't work for me.
Janice: All I can say is wow to this, Viviane. Despite missing one arm, you still deliver a picture here that screams potential to me. The action here is great, and you look 7' tall!
Danielle, you have a beautiful smile, but as the other judges have said, it's sort of on the small side the image. In a tough competition like this, it's little imperfections like this that can sometimes be the difference between going and staying.
Mako, this is too far away to be a beauty shot. We need one that frames around the face. Although the face is the focal point, it's not what we asked for.
Janice: Oh my god. There's no wonder you're lying down here, coz those shoes are fucking massive! You wouldn't've be able to stand up in them! Unfortunately, the pose does make you look short, despite showing off those lovely assets you have. I also really like the pronounced cheekbones.
I like the cuteness and the innocence in here, Rin-chan, it's quite adorable, but at the same time you're hiding from us. We want to see a beautiful and confident smile here, but yours is sort of hidden.
Rise has the most beautiful eyes, and it's something we need to bring focus off with a season full of anime girls. We need you to stand out from the crowd and show off something else.
P!nk:
One thing about modeling is the ability to showcase your outfit and make it stand out. You've done that. Without looking like a fool. You haven't done that. Your hair and makeup unfortunately make you look like a strung out hooker. I do love the pose and the way you're shaped.
I can't really see your smile It's not even that you're hidden in semi profile but then you're holding your hair across your bottom lip, almost hiding it more. It's a very sweet smile, but would love to see more of it.
My favourite photo so far. Everything about it is cute!! Love it!
Woody:
I like how the modeling shot is horizontal, it's different and really stand outs. However, I feel like the focus isn't really on the model, but on those shoes, and that really takes away from the model.
I'm not really feeling the smile, it seems too shy. When I see a photo with someone smiling, it should be inviting, but the smile that you've given us doesn't feel inviting or even playful.
I love your basic beauty photo, it's very clear and focuses mainly on your face. I think that it's perfect for a beauty shot.
Overall, you've had a mediocre week.
Janice: What's with your face? That in correlation with your pose makes it look like you have a vibrator hidden up somewhere. I really don't like the face, it's ugly, but not in the same way as some of the other girls where they've made it work. Those legs are amazing though, I'll give you that.
Carrie, that smile is perfect, it's in your eyes too. It really is glowing beautifully and you look radiant. My one criticism here is that I wish it were a bit cleaner, you make up looks a bit heavy.
Flynn, you sexy hunkospunk! This picture really shows off your defined nosed and brow, and also shows off you cheekbones and some of your jawline. This photo I think could be improved with less clothes on.
P!nk:
I love the angle this was taken on. Your legs go on forever and are just to die for. Your legs are the best part of this photo. But model potential is a lot more than just killer legs. Your expression and pose are not good, so they throw this right off.
Your smile is absolutely wonderful. I love it. I love the hair wisping all over the place, and the your eyes. Your rogue is a little heavy but that's ok, the rest is good.
This is cute. I like the sexy little half profile shot, the way you're looking at the camera, your smouldering expression. It's very nice.
Woody:
I'm not 100% liking your modelling photo, I feel that it's a bit stiff and I don't like the top of the head is cut off. But I do like that we see your entire body and the legs are great.
I love Carrie Underwood's smile. It's really good, it has the main focus on the smile and that's what the photoshoot is all about.
I like this beauty shot, we can clearly see your features, and I like how it's a profile shot which we haven't seen much of this week.
Overall, you've had a good week.
