Photoshoot #8 - Ultima

[Team Fairyland]

Okee dokee, well I definitely learned my lesson last round, so you better believe I am going to be rambling on and on like an annoying little bitch because I'm going to make DAMN sure I cover all my bases and explain everything the best I can!

However, even with all of my sweet talking, this still could very well be the end of the road for Fairyland! Every single category this round has been a nightmare for me. First of all, Andrej can't sell cologne, because all of the cologne advertisements I've ever seen has included a sexy man with big bulging muscles...and unfortunately, that ain't Andrej (it's hard enough finding photos where he even looks like a man, let alone showing off a six pack). Instead, I'm going to have to take a huge risk and attempt selling perfume with him.

Also, Link having to sell eyeliner or glasses is enough to make me turn to drugs or alcohol. Clearly the guy never wears glasses, and of course he isn't going to be wearing eyeliner or mascara. My only option was to find a picture where I felt his eyes were the focus, and I guess I'll have to leave it up to you guys to decide whether or not it sells the product.

Emma was probably the easiest of the three, but it was still a challenge because as we have all seen in previous modeling games, selling skin products is a BITCH; inevitably, the eyes or lips will steal most of the focus (I mean hell, look at the Emma Stone example...if I saw that without the product listed on it, I would have automatically assumed it was an ad for lipstick).

HOWEVER, even with all this bitching and complaining of mine, I really did enjoy working through this photoshoot...and I just pray to Jesus that one of the other teams had even more difficulties than me. With a little sprinkle of fairy dust, and an enormous amount of luck, I might just squeak by!

Andrej: Ultima No. 5

My inspiration behind this was the classic Chanel No. 5 ads. I actually did a ton of research to figure out exactly how to pull this off, and I am pretty proud of what I came up with. There are a few similarities in all the Chanel ads that I made sure to incorporate: they are all black and white, they have full body shots, there are at least two people, there's a great setting, and they tell a story. One of the key differences with mine, however, is that I made sure to keep the whole "love" aspect toned down as much as possible; we just got done with that theme, so I needed to show something different, and hopefully this is more interesting anyway. (Oh, and in case you were wondering, Andrej is actually playing both parts in this photo!)

Emma: Ultima Skin Enhancer

Alright, so this one is pretty basic and straight forward. I obviously went the "commercial" route, but I think her skin looks great and her expression is fucking adorable. I also tried to stay away from anything where her eyes or lips completely stole the focus.

It kinda looks like he's wearing eyeliner, right? Either way, I do think his eyes steal the show here, and hopefully he melts your hearts once again!

Janice: Baha! Such depth! Better safe than sorry!

I knew Andrej would be difficult to do a cologne, but honestly, I was expecting a perfume from him (It's okay because he can pull it off). Cologne was because of Zhao. I love the modern/vintage fusion in your photograph. You look amazing in both parts of the photo, and we can tell this is a classy fragrance and it will have boys following you (Scary!)

Emma's photo is perfect for a skin product, it's cute, young and fresh. Her skin does have a few freckles, but I think that adds to the charm of the photo. I think you did a good job with this photo too!

And Link! Link is very handsome in this photo, you can tell his male here, but still has a bit of androgyny too which makes it more interested. It's very interesting that you've gone for a silver eyeliner, it's a risk, but it definitely has worked in your favour here.

Morgan: I loved your introductory description! And I'm impressed with what you have produced this week.
Andrej looks wonderfully feminine and I dont mind seeing him pull off a a perfume rather than a cologne because he does it so well. What I love about this photo is that its got such a story behind it as well as selling the product. You look confident, and self-satisfied like you have overcome your alter ego in the background. This is great!
Emma looks cute, pixie like, young and very innocent. Your skin looks lovely and the freckles give you a natural look.
Link is divine! I love the edginess and the uniqueness of the silver/grey eyeliner. Your eyes look great, and your face has a great strength and well defined structures to it in this. You just look handsome! This is a great ad for silver eyeliner.

[Rarity]

Rarity: Andrej, I am absolutely blown away that you went perfume instead of cologne, added examples to prove your point and really went the extra mile to sell this. And sell it you did. I love black and white shots, and when they show artistic potential, as this does, that is even better. I can see this clearly as a No. 5 advertisement. Well done!

Emma, I do love that little dimple coming from the crooked smile. It's adorable. For a skin enhancer though, I can see a fair amount of freckles that I think could have been covered up more, we're not going for a natural look, we're going for an enhanced look. So this is just alright for me.

Link, Easily my favorite of the three photos, you certainly know how to photograph for the occasion. It's wild because even though your bangs are slightly covering one eye and threatening to go for the second, your eyes stand out more than anything else and it's as though your hair is just a mere shadow when compared to the brilliance your eyes give off. Amazing!
