Welcome teams to our second panel. Morgan Freeman set the photoshoot today in honour of himself. Your task this week was to capture and represent a movie he took part in through your photos.
Janice: This is a very interesting interpretation of the movie. Storm is no doubt ridiculed and bullied for her powers, in the same way PK was bullied for his nationality, not only that but the film does display themes of tolerance and the passion to change the world and also fighting for it, which is Storm to the bone. You know, I wasn't sure about this, but once I analysed it, I see that it's the right choice of character, and your idea is here there too.
Morgan: I think you have worked the movie title very well! You certainly do look powerful here, frighteningly powerful. Your presence is very strong, and your body looks wonderful here. You have a funny expression on your face, but thats a minor complaint to how well you have reflected your chosen title.
Rarity: Well, darling Storm, it's extremely clear that the "Power of One" Goes a long way! I'm glad you were able to find a movie that also fits in with your team. I even like this outfit. It is far better than that atrociously outdated white uniform! I love the power radiating out of your eyes and hand. You are definitely Lady Weather. I may have to send Rainbow Dash out if you decided to rain on my parade though little missy!
Rarity: I have no doubts that Morgan will have a chain reaction of his one when he sees this one! I think you did a very good job on this. I can even see the prison theme going on in the background and you do look sensationally sexy! The only bit that's distracting me from loving it all around is "Elle" at the bottom.
Janice: Don't worry, I had the same problem with the theme, and as a result, my critiques won't make sense. I think a good way to have taken this photoshoot was to probably think of a bit of both sides of the spectrum. Anyway, your photo. I do like the dark nature of the photo, and the way you're extending your body, but that comes at a cost of both your legs and your neck, and that makes you look deformed. I think this works in the "Chain Reaction" part in terms of title, and plot, but still it suffers greatly in terms of model basics.
Morgan: You can chain me up any day! I think this is a strong modelling shot as well as representing the movie title well. I love how you are playing with the props in your setting which is helping to bring life to your photo and make a good connection with the title. Your top half of your body looks long and lean however your crouched position down the bottom makes you look short. You just need to learn to be more consciously aware of your body's positioning and remembering to lengthen your body. Good job though!
Janice: Well Morgan did instruct to reflect the movie title, rather than the theme of the movie (Which I totally just read then :S ), and that's what you've done. It's cute, it's quirky and it's different, and totally unexpected. It looks like Emma and her sugardaddy are having a merry old time. There is a little something off about the face, but I can't quite put my finger of it.
Morgan: This is cute! I love how you have interpreted the title, it certainly does look like you are getting driven around and your styling brings life to the movie title as well. Your skin looks great, flawless. You look so unlike you here! But I love the fact that you can transform yourself and your look.
Rarity: This is absolutely adorable and while not what I expected with "Driving Miss Daisy" I believe this is better than a chauffeur and a car but it has so much life going on in it. Even with the man in the background, because of your 20's getup (which I absolutely love) you stand out without a problem. Great work!
Janice: I've actually watched Nurse Betty, and I totally make the connection to the title, and also the theme of the movie though this photograph, and your choice of model. Betty is a woman who witnessed the brutal murder of her boyfriend, and escaped deeply into a fantasy world and lost her mind. This photo, I absolutely adore, and it works superbly in capturing both the title and the movie theme!
Morgan: Wow nurse Betty, you are enticing and scary at the same time! I really love this your styling is interesting (in a good way) and that connection you are making to the camera is engaging, I like the attitude and tension in your face. You have produced a strong photo that represents well to the movie title you chose, well done!
Rarity: Only Harley-Quinn could pull off a stunningly accurate depiction of Nurse Betty and you have absolutely done it here. You look terrifyingly frighteningly crazy and even your outfit is modelicious so you have absolutely stepped it up from your beauty shot! Well done!
Janice: What I love about this photo is that it's extremely dark, you're rising out of the murky water, and the fact that you look like a Batman villain! I am loving the dark expression you're giving us, and it looks like you're showcasing your villainous ways in a way that represents both the title and the theme.
Rarity: Now that the correct photo is in place... WOW! Ariel! You, darling, look evil as evil could be and for a Dark Knight, I approve. Those giant eels and those small glowing fish just add to the violent aura that you give off. Absolutely fantastic! Great work!
Morgan: Evil Ariel! This is a great shot. I can certainly see the darkness in you and your setting, I love the your hair is flowing upwards it almost looks like blood. And of course where would a dark knight be without their trusty minions. I like how you have transformed a somewhat masculine move title into something feminine and yet oh so edgy.
Janice: It's a beautiful photo, but I can't quite make the connection to the movie title or the movie's plot. Is it that you're leaning on the elephant? As I said, it's a beautiful, practically flawless photograph, but I can't make the connection.
Morgan: Lets hope that the elephant doesn't lean on you, or else young Jessica might die. I like the high fashion here both your hair and your dress. You look very beautiful and surprisingly dont look too short in comparison to the big foot you are modelling with. I can see the connection to the title, but if you had have represented this better in your modelling e.g., by leaning on the elephant in a elegant, model way, it would have made this photo a lot better.
Rarity: Well it's very obvious that you went with literal interpretation for "Lean On Me". You as the model are definitely stunning and I really love that dress and your hair and pose so well done. Here's the downside, your animal friend is stealing the spotlight because she is just ENORMOUS and not easily forgettable, which in turn, makes this shoot just as unforgettable!
Janice: Representing a dolphin through your body shape. Simple, yet effective, and I can see a connection to the title in your photograph. I wish the light reflected more in your face though, and I would have loved to see a bit of story telling.
Morgan: Love! I love how you have managed to captivate the movie title mostly through your modelling alone, now thats skill right there. Your pose is so strong, and setting around you compliments the power of your modelling. As Janice mentioned, the shadowing across your face darkens any modelling that may have been coming through in your face. But other than that this is a great photo!
Rarity: Well this was certainly not something I was expecting but my goodness darling, I love it! At least your pose and outfit AND THOSE SHOES *pretend faints* they are just to die for! What I would have loved even more is if... and this was mentioned before, the shadow around your face wasn't there. That said though, your blue eyes really stand out amongst all that dark and I really love that!
Janice: I love the emotion captured in the photo, there's a sense of desperation, fear and panic. It really does capture the theme of the movie very well. As an artistic piece I like this, but when it gets down to your modelling, it looks like you're twisted into a pretzel for me. However, apparently, you were meant to represent the title... I see no lesbian love here. :\
Morgan: You do have some great emotion in your face, which is striking to see. However I dont see a clear reflection of the movie title you chose - kiss the girls. Perhaps if you provided us with more of a description then the photo would make more sense. Your modelling is little here, as most of your body is swallowed by your dress, but the modelling in your face is very strong.
Rarity: As Morgan did have a clear idea of what he was looking for with this shoot, and Janice also had a clear of what she was looking for in this shoot, and both were looking for something completely different, I'm going to go for what I was looking for. Any connection to the movie, be it the title or scene in the movie, and I believe you have captured this brilliantly. I agree there is so much emotion here, Cintia! Your gown is beautiful from what I can see of it in the position you're in. I've honestly never seen this movie (Or most of Morgan's movies to be honest, LOVE YOU MORGAN) but you obviously have and I see this as very artistic and I love that you and the hidden shirtless boy are almost touching. It's very good.
Janice: I know the theme of this week's photoshoot was to portray the title, but there's just too much disjunction from the theme of the movie too for my tastes. The movie was about a death in the military and his burial place... For my it seems like you were grasping at straws here and just talking your way out... I mean, I see your angle, but the disjoint for me comes too strongly.
Morgan: I think the modelling element and the photo itself is quite strong. Its a breathtaking photo and can resemble a lot of meaning, however I dont see much of a connection to your movie title. Yes I can see that you are at home in some lingerie, but there is too much going on for the photo to seem restful. As I said your modelling in this is superb, I like the arch in your back and the lengthening of your limbs. Would have been good to see more of your face and a relation to the title.
Almudena: It said the title, not the movie... so therefore if you wanted it to be more about the movie it should have stated that.
Janice: This wasn't my shoot idea. The shoot was mainly about the title itself, but it would be nice if a little bit of research was put in so both the movie and the title were reflected. A good photo for this could have been perhaps a dark, mourning shot or set in a cemetery. That way, the "Resting Place" title is fulfilled, and still in tune with the theme of the movie. A good photo is multidimensional, with many aspects to keep us thinking and help us appreciate it even more.
Morgan: For you to be successful in this photoshoot your photo needed to adequately represent the movie title. Your photo does not seem to be strongly connected to the title "Resting Place" without your description, I would not have seen the connection. At a first glance the mirror being held over your body looks more to be something about vanity. If you were to look back at the example photos you will see that the photos are visual representations of the movie titles, the movie title is reflected easily through the photo.
You are free to use a different theme that is not necessarily what the movie is about e.g., resting place could be about relaxation, which is what I think you were going for in this photo however the setting, the mirror and your pose did not necessarily suit the "resting place" idea that you were aiming for.
Janice: Oh Morgan, we should have gone through this a bit more than what we did.
Almudena: Then I think you should eliminate me. If you don't understand my style then you won't the rest of the season. I did the title. And no, I wasn't gasping at straws to come up with something I did the theme and what I was told to do in the directions.
Rarity: Darling, let's not take things out of proportion here. You chose the title "Resting Place" and I can see that you put a unique spin on this even though you're not from Team Unique . So what you're saying is that you like to rest in a dress (which is stunning in style) that matches the color of your walls and is so bright I need sunglasses to shield my eyes. You live for the finer things even though the room is completely devoid of anything but a fireplace, a mirror and your legs. Fine. I will give an A for effort.
Janice: I like the choice of character you have here in the way that the Death Note is a sort of contract. However, in terms of the modelling, I am unsure about how this works, it's very hard for me to look past some of the flaws in terms of how effeminate and submissive your pose seems for someone with a lot of power. Perhaps official art from the manga may have worked better in terms of artistic quality, and overall composition and atmosphere?
Rarity: Well there! The Death Note strikes again, but this time for a very different reason! A Contract you say? Well a contract it is! Now is this what happens when you have your hair trimmed? Your eyes turn a sinister red? As a car sales man I will accept this. As a landlord I will accept this, if you are portraying anyone else? Unacceptable! So I will assume you're not. Very well done. Now stop pointing at me, it's rude. No matter what that hooligan from Glee says!
Morgan: How dare you threaten me with the death note! Im not scared of the death note, I will narrate my death to the end. I think your photo represents the title "The contract" very well, you have some awesome red glowing eyes right there that draw me in. In terms of modelling, this looks like more of an advertisement than a modelling shot. We need to see edginess, and you presenting your modelling skills. However it is hard to encompass all of these elements especially in tough photoshoots like these.
