Badass Blondes - The Empress
Janice: The face has nothing behind it apart from trying not to look uncomfortable. I can tell this is not very comfortable for you by the tension in your neck. I can see the card, and Daenerys makes good fashion choices. It fits the theme okay, it's nothing special but covers the basic feel of the card. But my god, that modelling - Not good.
Hel:Oh no, you look so tired. Are you feeling alright?
I sucked the soul out of her body!
That explains what's going on with her face. Cheer up, though. I love your outfit and I think you've matched your card well.
Just remember that you're supposed to be a model! Step it up!
Emma: The Empress..........everything is beautiful, but you look bored. And I guess that's a look that would work well for a pretty rich woman. The face is the worst thing about this, the rest is good.
Ebony Souls - The Hermit
Janice: I love the art style. In terms of fashion, it's good, but it's your standard outfit, and it looks like it. I know it's harder for fictional characters, but I find the trick is making it look like it's different. The card is represented perfectly, your modelling head to toe, and I think it's extremely well executed.Just the fashion, make it look different.
"Bells?! Where exactly will you be attaching them to that mangled Chanel suit?"
Hel: I'm fine with the literal interpretation; makes it so I don't have to think much...
As if you could think, anyway!
It may be your standard outfit, but with fictional characters, I'm fine with that as long as the photo overall feels fresh to me and this is a different at style and overall different vibe from you, so I like it. If I had to make one complaint, it would be that your hair is a bit... square.
Makes you look like a blockhead! Dear lord, did I just quote Peanuts?
Emma: I really like this. Very beautiful, very well done, great modeling.
International Beauties 2.0 - The Sun
Janice: This is pretty bad quality to begin with, and the modelling looks pretty cramped, and you've lose your neck. The backglow of the Sun may not be enough. (However, if Stunning Studs doesn't show up, you have nothing to worry about).
The trick to doing well in these games is to pander to what the judges like, while at the same time, showing something you like. Since we have categories, try to put yourself in the shoes of the judges, and how would you critique it, how would you rank it.
Hel: I'll start with the positives. I can see the connection to The Sun and I like your windblown hair. Unfortunately, that's about it. The quality of the shot is lacking and while I'm mostly fine with the posing, I have to agree with Janice that it could be stronger cause we're missing your neck here. I haven't looked at your other photos, so I don't know what you could have given us, but like Janice said: try to keep in mind the categories we have to score as judges. They are most often Theme Connection, Modeling Content, Execution, and Fashion Content.
Emma: The Sun is obvious, but the picture is just not great. Sorry dear.
International Studs 2.0 - Strength
Janice: On the other side, this is the picture of Squall I was hoping you would choose. I felt it was the best one of the choices you posted, this was the best. It depicts the card perfectly, and I think it's executed extremely well. The clothes look slightly different to what you usually wear, even though they're the same, and that's what will give you extra points in fashion. In terms of modelling, it's where the picture suffers, but I don't think I'd rate it lower than a 3.
Hel: It seems you've put a lot of thought into your shot this week. You've done a great job explaining how your shot fits with The Strength card and I easily see it. For men's modeling (which tends to be more subdued than women's modeling) I think you have a fairly good pose and I like your art style. As Janice noted, it makes your outfit feel fresh. I'm not a huge fan of the blue glow on the left side of your head which is on top of the lion, as it makes it feel like two images thrown together, but I'd have to say that'd probably be my sole complaint about this photo. Great job.
Emma: The lion overwhelms you because he's a lion and looks fierce *z snap*
But this is still good nontheless
Team Kamikaze - The Devil
Janice: This Kamikaze method is easy when you've got models with great portfolios, like Tao, Bingbing and Zelda. I think you've nailed the picture in almost every aspect. I think it does have some quality and other technical issues, but I'd score this very highly. Good job.
Hel: I agree that you've nailed it in terms of theme connection, fashion content, and modeling content, but the image suffers from some quality issues.
AND YOU PROMISED US SOME BONDAGE!!!
Other than that, this is an image that hits a lot of points very well and you seem to already know that.
Emma: this is spot on, Tao is a good model.
Lionheart - The Moon
Janice: Stop making us judge horny. The last three pictures you have submitted have been centred around sex or sexiness (Albeit, one of them was because it as the theme). I can see the literal depiction of The Moon in the giant Moon behind you, but this would give me the opposite reading if this were a real tarot card - It seems better suited for The Devil based on metaphorical meaning, but for just being a literal interpretation, it's great.
Hel: You were asked to give us an interpretation of a card and while my preference would go towards a metaphorical interpretation of the card, since you all were explicitly told it could be literal or metaphorical, I am judging either interpretation equally. That said, it's easy to see the connection between you and your card. There's some nice posing (even if it's a bit unnecessarily sexualized this time) and I absolutely love the art style. Ariel has some of the best quality pictures out there, so at this point, it's no surprise. In the case of fictional characters, they're the only ones where I'm fine with logos and watermarks since it's been established in the series that they should be purposely left in to give the artist credit.
Emma: WOW, this is beautiful! And sexy, and fantastic!!!
NBC Slayers - The High Priestess
Janice: You're lucky International Beauties gave up The High Priestess. In terms of being tied to the Moon, I feel it'd be more convincing technically with a blue hue, but I'm not that advanced in photoshop to figure out how to do that. Other than that, I think it's a great submission.
Hel: I am so happy you were able to switch cards...
Cause I hated that first submission!
Hate's such a strong word... Now, onto the photo you're actually being judged on. I love how you connected your photo to the card and it's done really well. You have great posing, great fashion, great theme connection, and the quality of the photo itself is so much better than your other submission.
Emma: You people fucking confuse me with all this Ayu and Emmy talk fuck. UGH
This is great. All I got to say because of everyone confusing me.
Stunning Studs - The Hanged Man
Janice:See my post in the main thread. I actually meant your selection of card, not your team member. You may change your picture. But it must be of Captain America.
I must stress, if the picture isn't updated to one of Captain America, you will be eliminated.
Sugar & Spice - Death
Janice: Well, I certainly wasn't expecting this, so kudos. There's a few issues in which I'd dock points in terms of modelling and execution, and the fashion looks different to what you usually wear, despite being what you usually wear. In term of the theme, I can definitely see the connection to Death itself, in terms of card meaning, change, transition, transformation, that's all there. Good job.
Hel: I'm so very happy you went with this photo instead of one of you sleeping. A photo of your sleeping would have been too easy and expected, but this is a great way to go. The art style is fantastic, but I believe the big name Disney princesses tend to have huge portfolios with great quality out there, so it's not surprising you consistently turn in quality shots with her. At this point, I'm having to find very minor things to nit-pick here, so I'll just say that I'm not liking the placement of your hands. The one without the apple is down by your crotch and I would have liked a better grip on the apple with your other hand. As I said before, though, it's so strong that I had to find something very minor to nit-pick here. Great job.
Emma: I am so glad you didn't go with a sleeping picture. Anyone can sleep. This is morbid and perfect! Good job!
