Janice: Christian, I find the picture to be very relaxed, and the fashion is good. However, when it comes all together, I feel it comes off as boring. I feel this mainly has to do with the pose, the expression and the overall fashion content.
Vin, I know you have a nice smile, but unfortunately, I'm not convinced about it in this picture. I feel you may have been limited with photoshoots, because a majority of his smile is found on the red carpet. This picture has a very "father" like quality to it, though. I've not decided on whether or not that's a good or a bad thing.
I was wondering whether we'd see older or younger Aang here. I think Older is a good choice to show manly good looks. The face is more developed, so we can see his strong brow and cheekbones. The beard doesn't do any favours for the jawline, but it is what we're looking for.
Noel: Christian - You look like the lead character from Hitman. It's a nice shot, though. We easily get to see all of you here, but I do think it would have been better in color. Since it's in black and white and you're in a suit, we don't get to see all the lines of your body and that's a bit more serious on a "Modeling Potential" shot than it is in pretty much any other shot. Still, I see enough from this shot to get a good idea about who you are and I feel like I can tell your style.
Vin - This is easily the weakest shot of the bunch, but I know that a smiling shot can be deceptively difficult to execute. I don't like the quality of the shot since the finishing makes it look like this was done with amateur equipment. It just looks a little like a department store catalog shot. You do have the theme down and I like the scale of everything in the shot, so it's not all bad.
Aang - I had to go research your character since I've never watched the show, but know enough to know that your character is supposed to be a child and that this shot made no sense to me. However, after researching, I found that your character does appear in adult form in the series, too. With that out of the way, I think this is probably the best shot of the three. You've met the requirements of the shot, everything is in good proportion, you're easily recognizable, and I like the overall art style of the shot. Good start.
Morgan: Hello baldies! Do I sense that you have a fetish for the Brazilian look? Me too!
Christian - You look like you are attempting to be very inconspicuous here while you conjure your evil plan for world domination. Looking very smartly dressed as you are doing this also. I would have liked more theatrical posing to compliment the vibe you are trying to create, making yourself more of an active figure in the shot rather than a passive figure. The distance of the photo and shadowing has resulted in little detail being shown in your face also.
Vin - Hey daddy! I'm liking this natural smile and the relaxed atmosphere you are generating. However your smile doesn't exactly make you look model like. Your eyes have been stolen and your nose looks quite large in this front on photo. Perhaps you need to experiment with angles a bit more.
Aang - What a fun name to say, I could get used to this. You look almost statue like, this reminds me of a statue of a president or someone significant in history. However you look very defined here, I'm liking the contours of your face the shaping around your lips and eyes. You have a unique look. The symbolism in the photo with the arrow is subtle but also may be a representation of your character.
Bomb Squad:
Oluchi:
Han:
Jafar:
Oluchi:
Han:
Jafar:
Noel: Oluchi - I like this shot for what it is, but not for what we're looking for this round. You have a beautiful face in this shot (more-so than in the avatar, which I like, too), but the body language is a little underwhelming. I feel like a Sports Illustrated shot isn't the best choice to show modeling potential in a game where "Fashion Content" is a category the judges score the models on each round. Also, I would have liked to have gotten all of you in the shot, from head to toe. Still, we can see you're a beautiful woman with a great body here, so at least we know you have potential.
Han - I like the way this shot is executed. I don't think we really see over-the-shoulder smiling shots in these shoots that often, so this is definitely a nice change of pace. When I look at your mouth, I'm not overly thrilled with the way it looks (but it's still fine), but I love your eyes here. You're definitely smiling through your eyes. Overall, I think this is a really nice introduction to your model and piques my interest.
Jafar - I was about to tell Han she had the strongest photo of the three, but then I saw this shot. The level of detail in this shot is phenomenal and it's a very striking shot. It tells a story and makes me want to see what else you have to show us. The only complaint I have is about the size. Especially for a headshot, this size is completely unnecessary and is actually slightly larger than my screen, so I have to scroll (but only slightly) to see the whole thing. I just looked up the dimensions and this shot has a height of 940. As a matter of personal preference, I don't tend to like an image having a size larger than 900. That 40 pixels is literally the slight size I was talking about earlier. Anyway, great start.
Janice: First of all, I can see you wanted to show case Oluchi's strength as a swimsuit model, however, this picture isn't doing you any favours. The swimsuit is fashionable, but the modelling, and overall feel of the picture seems ameteur. I can't see much potential in this picture.
Han, a beautiful make up/foundation advertisement with a beautiful smile. Definitely a strong start here. There's not much more to say about this. It's a very solid start.
Jafar, I must admit I'm surprised. I thought you may go with the more "bishonen" side, instead, you give us realism. Being an older gentleman, I can see you have some nice cheekbones, and a very long face. Well, you know what they say about long faces...
Morgan: Oluchi - More like Owchie because you look so hot here! I'm loving the effortless curves you are giving us with that rocking body of yours. The powerful eye contact is a big plus in this photo, I can't seem to look away. Your face has just the right amount of tension within it. A full body shot would be the cherry on top of a cake for this photo.
Chae Young - This photo has a natural vibe to it, the white setting and your smooth skin makes this a very soft photo. Although your smile looks a little bit forced as it doesn't appear to reach your eyes, the way in which you are elongating your neck and smiling upwards makes you look empowered and strong.
Jafar - This is perfection. You have captured Jafar's conniving and devious character traits flawlessly as well has his devilish handsome appearance. This photo also represents a cultural perspective of this character that I hadn't before noticed or contemplated. I look forward to seeing what other surprises Jafar has up his sleeve in this competition!

Daphne:
Mila:
Medusa:
Daphne:
Mila:
Medusa:
Noel: Daphne - The dress is definitely interesting (and I like that). The pose is unique and oddly fitting. I just personally don't like your face. There's just something about it that's unflattering, to me. Janice has shown me several shots of you when I said I didn't like your face here and she was trying to prove that's how you naturally look. I don't think there's anything natural about those lips. I HATE collagen lips; I think they make women look trashy. After seeing those other shots, your lips here are definitely better and look more normal. Anyway, face aside, I like this shot.
Mila - I'm not the biggest fan of this shot, either. It looks like a candid moment caught on film. The smile is way overdone.
Medusa - I had to move on from the Mila critique cause I was getting tired of being negative and wanted to get to the perfection that is your Medusa shot. This is stunning. You look glamorous here and it definitely makes me want to see more of you. There is literally nothing about this shot that I don't love.
Janice: Daphne, I think this is the strongest picture of your group. I disagree with Noel and I love the face, especially the cheekbones. I love the dress and the pose too. It works to make the photo dynamic and interesting.
Mila, I, too, am not a fan of this picture. Though it does seem genuine, I definitely wouldn't want to put this face on a product I'd be selling.
Medusa, I feel because of the scales and hands, you have completely missed the mark of the simplistic beauty shot. I think there's too much going on here. Too much make up, too much effects. I think you stretched too far to impress us. So much so, you ignored the guidelines of the photoshoot.
Morgan: Daphne - I was trying to figure out a way to describe my perception of what is happening here in this photo and I've just realised what it is. Excuse my being frank but you look like a swan that's about to topple over and your using your arms to help you regain balance. That being said because you are wearing a very exquisite fashionable dress this photo does resemble your modelling potential even if it was on accident.
Mila - Charades I love this game! One word? Occupation? Umm I've got it a DJ! You look over dramatised and very posed here. I don't see a smile but more-so I see you pulling a face/pose for a friend who you have an inside joke with. Bring your model next time!
Medusa - Well hello poisonous glory you look like a force to be reckoned with. You have a wonderful powerful and overruling look in this photo, I love the hint of sacrifice from what could possibly be blood running down your arms. Your lips look gorgeous and full and your eyes are a very unique asset of yours. You have intrigued me Medusa.
Team Curious:
Magdalena:
Chloe:
Alice:
Magdalena:
Chloe:
Alice:
Noel: Magdalena - This is an interesting take. Not sure I was really expecting to see a profile for the Modeling Potential shot, but I like it. The outfit was smartly done to fool the eye into thinking your legs go on forever. I'm sure they're fairly long, but am positive that the styling, posture, and choice in shoes are enhancing that length. You look a little unstable in the overall sense, but for the most part, this is a pretty good start.
Chloe - I like that your smile here isn't overdone like we get from a few of the others. This does look like a shot someone could have taken of you outside of a modeling shoot, but it looks like a high-quality candid (not saying it is actually candid, just that it looks like one). I love how bright and vibrant your hair is here and I get a definitely sense of character from you in this shot.
Alice - The first thing I notice are your eyes. They're such a piercing shade of green and the makeup effect on your eyelashes only enhance the look. Your hair kind of blends into the background, so I would have liked a different background color. Other than that, I don't really have anything negative to say here.
Janice: Mags, we definitely don't expect to see a profile shot here. However, I think it helps you stand out. I like the addition of the ballet flats to help you look taller, combined with your executive fashion. It also improves your posture.
Chloe, there's something about this that I really don't like. I think it might be how fake the hair looks compared to everything else. The whole thing looks like someone's photoshopping creation. I'm not a fan.
And little Alice, well, not so little here. Some great eyes here. A very lovely cheekbones, lips. Eyebrows. It works well as a beauty shot.
Morgan: Magdalena - Ahh you seem to be a classic type of model. Poised, graceful and talented in the arts. You have some interesting model characteristics, your limbs are extraordinary long the way in which your arms are places make them seem almost alien like in length and in the posing. An impressive shot.
Chloe - Are you a super sayan? Avenger? Some sort of actress that places a super hero? If the answer is no then you need to dye that hair pronto! Judges lets move the makeover episode to next week, this is an emergency situation. Luckily with horrid hair you are still giving us a cute smile. However you look quite young and amateur like which comes across through your hand placement and uncertainty mirrored in your face. IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THAT HAIR COLOUR THEN I NEED TO SEE YOU WORKING UP SOME FIERCENESS.
Alice - Its obvious that you have a trademark quality and that is your magnificent green eyes. You look like an interesting character, one that has a story to tell and I'm all ears. Literally I want you to tell me everything
This is a beautiful, sharp and an effective natural photo of you to kick start your place in the competition. Nice.
Team Estrogen did not submit. Someone yell at her for me.

Boa Hand-on-Morgan's-Cock:
Noel: Sui He - Well, you seem to have a system down in how to choose your team members. I absolutely love your outfit here; feels so high fashion. Your posing is spot on, too. Your lips pop in a good way for me here. They feel similar to another model's lips and I didn't care for hers this round, but I feel like the expression on your face made the severe lip color not feel as severe as it did in that other model's shot. Overall, love the start you have here.
Jennifer - This is actually a pretty nice shot of you (I tend to hate most shots submitted in "Smiling" photoshoots). I feel a definite sense of playfulness from you and it comes out through your expression, and mannerisms.
Boa - I am so happy I don't have to deal with the terrible eyebrows your previous fictional character had. This character looks like it'll have none of those characteristics that'll bother me cause she looks so beautiful here. The level of detail here is great and I want to comment on specifics, but I can't pinpoint any feature as being the best. I was going to comment on the beauty of your eyes, but then I wanted to comment on your hair, but then I wanted to comment on your lips. Literally, there is nothing about you in this shot I don't love. However, I don't particularly care for the prop sticking into the shot. It's a little distracting in the Basic Beauty shot. Had it not been for that, this would have been a completely perfect shot, to me.
Janice: First of all, Sui. This picture is amazing. Just the right amount of everything in this picture. Killer pose, Killer eye contact, killer fashion. I love all of this.
It is a nice picture of Jennifer as Noel said. It shows a lot of her personality, I just don't know if I see this kind of picture as something I'd put a face of a product on.
Boa, I find this absolutely captivating. Despite the snake, she's front and centre. Completely the focus of attention. Make up is minimalistic too. I really like this picture, and I'm sure Morgan will enjoy the cleavage.
Morgan: Sui - Absolutely stunning. You look like a hero vampire with great fashion sense who is waiting for a damsel (or a Morgan) in distress so you can swoop in and crush them with your strong thighs and legs. If this is just a potential shot I can't wait to see what shots you are going to bring when you are actively modelling for us all.
Jennifer - Oh for fucks sake Janice, have we seriously got such a low budget that the Models are eating their own produce?! IS THAT WHY WE HAVE A TEAM THAT CONSISTS OF BALD MEN?! I can see that you are ravenously starving here and yet you are still giving us a playful relaxed smile as you are trying to persevere through the food shortage. I would have liked a more natural connection between your face and your body, your hand seems de-attached and awkward.
Boa - BOOBS! And a beautiful woman, my job here is done.
But in all seriousness, stunning, fantasy like, emotional, artistic, bold and yet soft all of these qualities are within this photo and well it needs another mention - BOOBS!
Team MAY:
Freja:
Shailene:
Draculaura:
Freja:
Shailene:
Draculaura:
Janice: Despite Freya's lack of fashion, I still think this is a strong showing. We can see her in her natural state with nothing to distract us. It really is the right way to see her potential. However, fashion content would have been good.
Shailene, it's a very approachable picture, but there's no fire in those eyes! It comes across to me as a fake smile. At least it could be put on a magazine cover.
And Draculaura, this probably is the most natural you can get. The anime style may put you at disadvantage against the rest of the competition; I've mainly seen realistic pictures this round. However, it is what we asked for.
Morgan: Freja - Captivating. You have stolen my heart. This is wonderfully pure, clear and direct. You are showing us your canvas and the potential you can bring with no assistance from fashion, props or a setting. And yet in the absence of all these factors you have reigned victorious. You have created dimensions in your photo just through your posing. I see a 2D approach in your legs and torso and a 3D approach in the life of your face and shoulder. Stunning and artistic.
Shailene - This is pretty, its covergirl, its commercial but in comparison to that stunner above you its a lacklustre. You look like a breath of fresh air on surface appearance level but I want to see personality and emotion breaking through that pretty exterior.
Draculaura - I don't know whether you are a lovely innocent vampire or a vicious purple makeup obsessed vampire that will show her teeth at any second. Either way your appearance is unique as is illustrated here in this simple photo. I'll be interested in how Draculaura models.
Noel: Freja - I can definitely appreciate a nude shot done tastefully and this is definitely a tasteful shot. You've definitely thought about the best way to show off your model and I can't think of anything negative to say here. Fashion Content is one of the categories on the scoring rubric, so you might run into a little trouble there, but other than that, I don't see you having trouble anywhere.
Shailene - I have to agree with the other judges here. This is a very commercial shot and would be a good shot for CoverGirl. It's a good shot and one of the better smiling shots I've seen (as I said in another model's critique, I generally don't care for most "Smiling" photoshoots).
Draculaura - It's a Basic Beauty, but I kind of feel like it's a little too basic and that's due to the art style. We got a lot of highly detailed shots this round and this shot lacks those details that really make it pop. It's still a nice shot, but not your best this round.
Team Pisces:
Cindy:
Jensen:
Michiru:
Cindy:
Jensen:
Michiru:
Janice: We'll start with Cindy. One of the greats of modelling. Being outside of the studio is risky for this shoot, as you know. The executive fashion is a good look, especially in the ivory tone. I feel the main problem here is the lighting around the head. It's putting your face in the shadows, and doesn't show of many features.
Jensen. I know you're going to be in your comfort zone with him here. Mens smile pictures tend to have a bit different standards than female. I can see this picture on a dating website. That being said, I wish it were on the more clean cut side of things though.
Finally, Michiru, here we're presented with a beautiful profile picture. There's a lot of emotion here, and the hair is not distracting. I don't condone the mirror in the picture, but without it, there wouldn't that emotional ambience in this picture.
Morgan: Cindy - This photo reminds me of a hot middle aged mother who is trying to seduce her sons hot friend (aka: me). You look aged here and not in a good way especially in your face and neck region - even though that neck looks deliciously long. The body is banging, I love the curvatures and the comfortability you are exuberating. Focus on the appearance of your face next time.
Jensen - The celebrity smile pictures seem to be a hard one to nail in this competition as easy as the theme appears on paper sometimes the smile and associated emotions just don't convey in the photos. That's the case here, beautiful smile and you look good smiling which is a good thing but I don't feel connected to it. Perhaps some eye contact? More organised posing rather than that hand floating in mid air.
Michiru - You are one stunner of a character! This profile shot works well to give us an idea of your basic appearance as well as telling us a story about yourself. I love the vulnerability in this photo as portrayed in your pose you look thoroughly exposed (yes!) however as Janice said this feeling has been supported through your prop which is not part of the basic beauty theme.
Noel: Cindy - You have some great extension with your neck here and I like the attitude you're giving us. I do have a problem with the quality of the photo, though. Especially around your head, it's looking a bit too grainy. It is nice to see someone finally use Cindy Crawford. She was the most well-known model (to the general public) when I grew up and I was wondering why nobody had used her, yet.
Jensen - You know I love me some Jensen and I like this shot since it feels like a genuine moment of joy. I do have to agree with Morgan that there is a lack of planning when it comes to the execution of the photo, though. Still, I enjoy the shot and you'll do fine with it.
Michiru - It is a very nice profile shot. Your features aren't as detailed as a very other models this round, but we get good emotional detail from the shot, so that definitely makes up for it. Not a big fan of there being a prop in the shot, but other than that, it works well.
SWAT Team:
Tao:
Vicki:
Usagi:
Tao:
Vicki:
Usagi:
Janice: Let's start with Tao. The face is flawless, but there's something that can be said about sitting or kneeling "potential" pictures. Generally, they don't go over well. However, that fact is made up by the flawless fashion in this picture.
Vicki, I think this picture is better off in a cosmetics advertisement. It works well for that, but for a smile photoshoot? I don't think so. There's not much of a smile going on here. Perhaps a smirk, but it's not what we're looking for here.
Finally Usagi... I'd really prefer this to be around 200 pixels higher. i know that may not have been possible for this picture though. I think it's a strong start to the competition, regardless.
Morgan:Tao- You look like a little porcelain doll, a porcelain doll that is working her body and her angles to the max. Even though you are kneeling your limbs look very long, like they have been folded in half. Your back and torso appear long and lean, giving you a petite and yet strong structure. This photo does show off a lot of potential, a solid job.
Vicky - This is very angel-esque you look soft and fresh two qualities that you have represented well. Your skin is flawless and your gaze is memorising however the focus of this photo is your smile and I'm not feeling that so much. I don't see many smile related (happiness, joy, elation) emotions being portrayed in your face I actually see a hint of seduction.
Usagi - Big blue eyed anime character my favourite! This is a lovely innocent, school yard photo of you that shows your natural elements in their purest form (look at that little dimple nose). However a photo of better quality, not so cropped (especially around the top of the head area) and larger would have aesthetically been more pleasing to look at.
Noel: Tao - The posture you're exhibiting here hinders your ability to show us your full potential. For this shoot, we like to see extension in your limbs and you're just too bunched up here. However, I agree with Janice that the fashion is great in this shot.
Vicki - This shot is too big for my tastes, especially with it being a headshot. The largest dimension I tend to prefer is about 900 cause if you go much further beyond that, it tends to not all fit on my screen at once and I'm forced to scroll to see the whole shot. I looked up the properties of this shot and its larger dimension is 1509. That said, it's a pretty shot of you, but we didn't really get the smile we were looking for here. It does at least leave me thinking that you do have potential, though.
Usagi - Since this is just a headshot, the smaller size doesn't really bother me; we can still see everything we need to see clearly enough. There were some nice details put into this shot, with the eyes being the obvious star here. It's a solid Basic Beauty, for sure.
Team TestosterOWNED:
Tyson:
Ryan: (lol hotlinked from an Australian news paper site)
Logan:
Tyson:
Ryan: (lol hotlinked from an Australian news paper site)
Logan:
Janice: Tyson, there's a little something wrong with the quality of the picture. However, the pose is strong, as is the face. I would prefer a bit more fashion-wise. But you are right. He is a bit of eye candy.
Ryan, I'm not entirely sold on your smile here. It's rather more a smirk, and it doesn't come off a very confident. As a male celebrity, especially if you're endorsing products, a smile needs to be confident. Men like to see confidence.
Finally, Logan. I'm not a fan of this honestly. I know it characterises Wolverine very, very well. But the beauty part is missing for me. Honestly, I might have preferred a sketch of Hugh Jackman's wolverine. But you did think outside the box, and you will be safe.
Morgan: Tyson - Great another chocolate muscle man that I have to engage in competition with. Just what my arthritis needs. You do look hunky and effortlessly model like. However this photo hasn't completely won me over. There's a lot going on rather than the simplicity that is usually expected in model potential shots. The quality is a bit off causing the photo to look dated as well as stealing your eyes literally I don't know whether they are open and shut.
Ryan - Contrary to Janice I actually like this smile you are giving us. Its quirky, and deductive I feel like you are enticing me to smile before you show off your big pearly whites. The way in which your body is taking up the centre of the photo and your head is nearing to the right brings angles into the photo and gives your shoulders a broad edge.
Wolverine - You so hairy I don't know where you end and Janice's bum begins! Your face looks so strong here and I can imagine that this type of emotion and appearance is accurate of you in your natural setting. I actually enjoy the angst in your face it plays up your masculine side as well as revealing versatility in your ability to enact emotions. Perhaps something a bit more simplistic would have been fitting for this particular theme however.
Noel: Tyson - This is my least favorite of the three you've given us. It mainly has to do with the quality of the image itself. I mainly notice it around your face and where it meets the background of the shot. Looks a little off there. However, the pose is great for a Modeling Potential shot. We get to see your definition and the length of all of your limbs here.
Ryan - While I agree with you that this is what makes the character he portrays great, I also agree with Janice in that I don't really like the smirk for this shoot. Since it's a "Smiling" theme, I would have preferred to have gotten a full-on smile from you. That aside, I do really like this shot. It's styled nicely and he looks great in it.
Logan - You'll never be a pretty boy and this shot shows off what makes Logan attractive: his raw masculinity. Perhaps the emotion might be a little over-the-top for a Basic Beauty shot, but it still gives us an idea of what we can expect to see from you. I'm also a sucker for detail when it comes to fictional characters. Often times, the shots where the artist took more time to really add detail to the picture tends to be the ones that have the best visual impact and I feel do better in the competition. I definitely appreciate the level of detail here.
Team XY:
Hao:
Leonardo:
Kurt:
Hao:
Leonardo:
Kurt:
Janice: We'll start with Hao. Now, do you remember what we told you about size guidelines? Generally, we do want something above 400x400. I know for some pictures it's not possible. Just I always find pasting the url into google and searching by images to be very useful. On the plus side, there's a lot to love in this picture. There's just the small problem that will come out of execution.
Leo, I don't see this as a very good picture for this round. Everyone knows Leo is a dreamboat with a gorgeous smile. This one doesn't work for me, and I don't think it can work without a partner with you. Even then, I don't think he'll stand out in that picture. It just comes across as very plain to me.
Finally, Kurt, smooth is a good word to describe this picture. The skin is very smooth. I love the cheekbones here, but the smoothness does come at a price of the browline. Either way, you're making blue look very sexy.
Morgan: Hao - Well hello cheekbony goodness. You are giving us a simple yet effective pose and the semi-profile angle of your face is also providing us with a good look at your wonderful bone structure. I'm loving the clear angled hairstyle that you are rocking as well. As mentioned, a larger photo would have emphasised the positive aspects in this piece as well as revealing more detail.
Leonardo - This is very Titanic like, I enjoy this youthful version of Leonardo. Your a hunk of spunk, and potentially a celebrity crush that IRL Morgan had when she was younger, but I'm with Janice in that I don't think this is the best. As an observer I feel disconnected from your smile, perhaps some sexy eye contact would have drew the observer in more.
Kurt - Damn boy your eyes are hypnotic! The overall styling of this photo works well, highlighting your basic beauty elements and the glow of your eyes as well as giving us judges a glimpse into your personality. Even in the shadow of blue there are unmistakable facial features which are popping out, your chiselled jawline and sunken (yet attractive) cheeks are natural features that give you a model edge.
Noel: Hao - The size is a little small for a full-body shot and that's really the only problem I'm having here. You're clearly very fashionable, it's a nice pose, and it shows good potential. I understand that it was the largest size you were able to find, but I do have to go based off of what I see in front of me and the size is a bit of an issue.
Leo - Probably my least favorite of the three. While the smile is there, Morgan hit the nail on the head when he said we feel disconnected from it. I know I personally don't feel the emotion coming from the smile. Still, this is a nice profile of him. Just could have been a stronger shot for what we wanted this round.
Kurt - This is a pretty basic shot, but we asked for a Basic Beauty and this fits the bill without being too basic. Your eyes really pop against the darkness of the rest of the photo. There's enough difference in color in this shot that we can make out all the details of you well enough, but the colors are still similar enough that it all looks cohesive. It's a pretty good way to start with your fictional.
